You know that person? The first one you go to when you’re in crisis mode, the same one you call as soon as you get exciting news, the one who won’t judge you no matter how dumb you’re acting because they know you’d never judge them for liking a Pitbull song. Well I’m lucky to have known that person since I was born. She’s my sister, Nellie.
She’s been there for everything including many of my races cheering me on (and playing photographer.) She even did a 10k with me this fall and it was such a wonderful experience.
It’s Nellie’s birthday today and I wanted to celebrate on the blog, because she’s always been a huge supporter and never judged when I had to take pictures of all my food or questioned my Whole 30 shenanigans, she’s let me play personal trainer at the gym and she’s always a trooper when it comes to eating what I whip together. Now that’s a true friend/sister. I can honestly say I don’t have any clue what I would do without her. Heck, we went to the same school and I basically just followed her to Boston (we’re now just a walk away, thank god)
So hip hip hooray for kick ass sisters!
Now on to yesterday’s eats. This is my last full week of the Whole 30, but for the most part when it’s over I think I’ll stick with it because I don’t really miss many of the things I’ve taken out. Perhaps I’ll indulge in the occasional brunch, latte or a drink with good friends, but as far as daily meals go I’m quite happy with all the positive changes I’ve made, plus I think there’s more to be done.
I just got a Nutri Bullet and this was my first smoothie made with it. It’s different from what I’m used to but I love how easy it is to use and clean.
Since I’m going away for the weekend on Thursday I’ve been cleaning out my fridge – my salad was pretty sparse but I gave it a boost with a larabar after (I also had 2 dates)
I also drank a Coconut Bai because that flavor man, I’m straight up addicted.
