Tahini Dressing

August 17, 2015 by Georgie @ The Long Run

Tahini dressing is a Mediterranean staple that you’ll want to put on… pretty much everything!

Mediterranean food is probably one of my favorite cuisines. Fresh veggies, olives, olive oil, falafel, nuts, greek yogurt, fish? All my favorite things. One of my favorite foods I ate while traveling abroad was a veggie gyro in Greece. I still think about it. So bomb.

Tahini Dressing

Another flavor integral to Mediterranean food is tahini. Tahini is a ground sesame paste and adds that extra o0mph in hummus. It has the consistency of a nut butter and makes an incredible addition to any dressing. Sometimes I’ll just use it plain. I love this dressing-sauce hybrid because it can make a salad into a satisfying meal. I suggest adding it to warmer hearty winter salads too.

You can adjust the consistency of this dressing easily by adding more water. When stored in the fridge it will become slightly thicker.

After making this sauce check it these 8 other ways to use Tahini. I love the idea of using it with a (veggie) burger or as a sub for mayo.

Tahini Dressing

I love making homemade dressing because I hate most store bought. Usually they’re packed with weird unpronounceable ingredients and are either too creamy, too salty or too sweet. It’s so much tastier and more satisfying to take matters into your own hands. I’ve been craving a tahini dressing for so long and I’m glad I finally got my act together to make some. The tahini paste will last a long time so you’ll definitely get bang for your buck.
