This Kombucha Margarita is going to be your favorite new cocktail. Move over cro-nut (or whatever new fancy food hybrid is trendy these days) there’s a new epic combo in town. That’s right, your favorite fizzy probiotic fermented tea just got a whole lot more fun with a splash of tequila, triple sec and lime. Plus, how fun is kombucha-rita to say? Am I right?
I am so into this drink. Margaritas are already an incredible combo of tequila, lime and citrus liquor. Adding fizzy, ferment-y ginger kombucha just takes it to the next level of summer refreshment.
It’s funny, as I was whipping up this bad boy I was thinking about ordering drinks when you go out. If I’m sitting down for a nice meal I like trying different cocktails if there’s a thoughtfully crafted menu. However, when you’re out, ordering at the bar is a whole other game.
For so long I was always so flustered and nervous. I never knew how to order or what I even wanted. For some reason I just felt like I was being critically judged by the entire establishment for whatever came out of my mouth. Like hmm was that drink “casually cool” enough. Did I sound like I knew what I was talking about? Reality check: no one gave a flying flip about what I was drinking. One of my go to moves was just to listen in on what other people were getting and copy their order. Ugh! How lame Georgie?!
Now at least I kind of have a rotation of dranks I like to enjoy. Sometimes it’s a whisky ginger, sometimes it’s just a shot of tequila or if I like the bartender I’ll just ask them to make me something fun with whatever alcohol I like. This has resulted in some pretty amazing drinks…. even if I’m not quite sure how they were made.
Basically the moral of the story is, drink what you like and don’t give a damn what other people might think, because more often than not they aren’t thinking about you at all. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.
Hopefully, if we’re lucky, bars will start serving kombucha cocktails, but until then, you can make this killer kombucha-rita at home with just 4 ingredients.
Kombucha
Tequila
Triple Sec
Lime

- 1 oz of triple sec
- 1/4 of a lime, squeezed

YUMMMM! Gimme all the margs! My go-to order at the bar rotates between a vodka soda, gin and tonic, or sometimes I’ll get a specialty cocktail and ask the bartender to surprise me haha! I also love hard ciders when I’m going to more of a dive-y place. 🙂
I’ll be first in line at whatever bar starts serving kombucha margaritas! These sound absolutely perfect for a summertime sip out on my patio!!
Did you make this for me?! Because this might be the only drink I’d order (for the rest of my life) if people really served it at bars.
Just when I thought I couldn’t love this blog of yours more – you blow my mind with THIS. My two favorite drinks combined. HOW HAVENT I THOUGHT OF THIS!? So pumped. Might make one with dinner tonight.
This sounds awesome! It’s like the cocktails I make with this local juice company. It’s healthy yet fun, haha.
Hey, this is an amazing idea… You need to sell this idea to bars, cause I think it would be really popular!
I’ve been dying to try some Kombucha cocktails! Putting this at the top of my list!
*says kombucha-rita aloud at a crowded cafe* Dang that is a lot of fun! I’m a huge fan of both margs and mojitos..which makes me wonder if you could do a kombuch-jito next!?
A whisky ginger sounds absolutely delicious! I’m newly obsessed with Kombucha and i bet this cocktail is amazingggg. And probably tastes a whole lot better than my vodka soda with a dirty lime wedge 😉
Okay this looks so delish and so easy to make. Whyyy has this not become a thing yet!? I’d so order it every time!
I WISH I could order this at the bar! I usually order wine because I’m not a big fan of mixed drinks because I find too many of them taste too strongly of alcohol haha. I had an amazing sex on the beach at a wedding over the weekend though – that may be my new go to drink!
In Colorado there ARE places (like quite a few) that have kombucha cocktails…it’s pretty amazing. One of my favs is kombucha with prosecco or champagne!! Yum! Pinning this for my next taco night.
