Today’s episode of the Chasing Joy Podcast is about shifting your mindset around career, handling stress and looking inwards.
I need to find some new ways to say “I am so excited to share this week’s episode” because honestly that’s how I feel every single week. I’ve had the pleasure of talking with totally inspirational women and each week they bring something new to the table. Each episode has it’s nuggets of solid “YAAAS”-ness.
I love interviewing people on the show because:
a.) I’m nosy AF &
b.) I love building a platform from sharing other people’s stories and perspectives
Because let’s me be real – sometimes you just get bored or stale thinking your same thoughts. But when you can bring along a friend who CARES about the same things but has different experiences and ideas around it – that’s where magic happens. Sure, I do have a couple thoughts and theories that I’m pretty into, if I can be so bold. Talking with other women brings these thoughts to another level. It lets us all dive deeper, get curious and just feel that “omg I thought I was the only one” kind of relief that comes from finding out you’re not alone.
Today my guest Jess, the blogger and personal trainer behind Hello to Fit sheds some serious light on an issue everyone is dealing with: our careers. We’re fed this narrative that we go to school, find a job and then become an expert over the next 30-40 years. Unless you end up practicing law or medicine, then that’s hardly ever the case. Yet here we are, kind of silently, yet collectively freaking out about how we honestly have no idea what we’re doing or if we’re moving in the right direction or why we’re questioning everything we thought we wanted.
But guess what?! You’re not freaking alone. Jess shares how a super stressful year forced her to look inwards. And yup! you guess it, that’s where the magic happens.
