For the different loops around my house I have the ability to add and subtract a couple miles depending on how I’m feeling.
Personally (as I’m sure many of us are) I’m highly competitive with myself. As soon as I get to that fork where I could either start heading home or tack on two more miles I’ve already challenged myself.
And then it’s on!
So that’s what I did today. I turned the 4 miles into 6 and it felt great.
I guess the moral is challenge yourself even on the small steps along the way, because the payoff is that feeling of accomplishment. You beat you- probably your biggest competitor.
