Blades of Glory

July 10, 2012 by Georgie @ The Long Run

I was fully expecting to go on my longer run because it was my one day off…

but then…

I got a sudden urge to go rollerblading. I’ve always loved rollerblading, but once I started running more I didn’t rollerblade as much.

Blading has a lot of similar benefits to running in terms of cardio &

it can work out inner and outer thighs!

I’ve read that it can burn up to 800 calories an hour, but that seems like an over estimate.

I’ve decided to incorporate it into my weekly routine have at least 2 rides a week.

Here’s a great article about the benefits of blading: http://inlineskating.about.com/od/healthbenefits/a/health-benefits.htm

Reasons to Blade:

  • Mix up my weekly routine and avoid feeling burn out by running
  • Build stronger thigh muscles
  • It’s just fun!
