This morning I ran in the Race for Open Space 5k to benefit the Nantucket Conservation Foundation.
This is only my 2nd road race, (both were 5k’s.)
I always feel so intimated by all the shiny neon sneakers. But once the horn went off I felt right at home.
It was overcast 70’s and we went up and down some hills on Cliff Rd and Madaket Rd.
In the end I came in at 25:30 which was under my goal of 26 minutes.
I can definitely see how people can get addicted to road races because you feel so accomplished before it was even 9am!
Breakfast was 2 pieces of pb&j toast. Carby proteiny goodness
Going to check in
Some pre-race stretching
Proud to wear a bib
