New Favorite Workout… The Destination Run

August 16, 2012 by Georgie @ The Long Run

Lately there’s been an influx of family visits, which I obviously love. But between working everyday and trying to fit in max bonding time it’s hard to find time to run. Solution? Run there. My Grandparents house is 3.5 miles from mine so instead of trying to do a loop and driving I strapped on my iPod and ran over for pedi’s with the ladies last week.

Today I’m doing a cousin sleepover with my family who lives in Madaket (approx 7.5 miles from my house) so I’ve decided to give my junk to my sister to bring out and I’ll run there!

Having a destination is a great motivation because obviously I want to get there as fast as I can and I can’t quit or turn back or cut anything out- just run!

I agree- I like having a destination when I run. It’s great motivation. You’re so lucky that your grandparents live so close– I would have loved that growing up.
