Paleo Diet

September 24, 2012 by Georgie @ The Long Run

So lately I’ve been reading a lot about Paleo diets. This basically means simplifying your diet back to the basics and getting rid of gluten, which our bodies were not originally able to digest.

My big problem is that I am a pescatarian and I know a lot of the diet involves meat, however I do eat eggs and fish so I think I could finagle it.

I spent hours last night reading this blog:

&basically she sold me. I think October would be a great month to purify for 30 days.

Here are some interesting links that talk about Paleo.

Also check out my pinterest for recipes I might make a special Paleo board.

Not to toot my own horn, but I do normally follow this type of eating with no bread, but sugar is a killer.

Good luck! Have you looked into the Whole30? It’s a great way to jump head-first into the Paleo lifestyle (it’s even a little stricter than paleo!)
I’m on Day 24 (Whoo!) and it’s been an interesting experience 🙂

Another thing to mention about the paleo diet, especially for people who are not big meat eaters. Most of us source our meat from local farms where the animals are pasture raised, outdoors, and fed a natural healthy diet. This helps to eliminate some moral issues that some people have with eating meat. Either way, you will be fine with eggs and seafood.
