Weekend Wandering Warrior

July 2, 2013 by Georgie @ The Long Run

Not all who wander are lost – J.R.R Tolkien

Was this really my 5th weekend in New York City? The calendars confirm this fact, but I continue to live in denial that time could possibly move that fast!

So far, my routine seems to be: workout at my gym (next to my internship) after work M-F and either run or walk on the weekends.

This weekend I walked over 35,000 steps approximately 14 miles

Saturday – Explored the Upper West Side- then down to Brooklyn Heights

Sunday – Downtown for the Pride Parade

So while I didn’t do my normal routine I still managed to pack the milage in by walking. I could walk and wander forever (if the weather is agreeable) especially in a city like New York.

On my travels I also ran across some pumpkin butter… so obviously I had to buy it.

And I treated myself to my favorite froyo combo: peanut butter & cake batter with marshmellow, peanut butter, granola and coconut! (I know.)

How do you spend your rest days? What’s your favorite weekend activity?
