WIAW & the Last First Day of School

August 28, 2013 by Georgie @ The Long Run

First days of school. Loved them. Fresh kicks, new outfit, full pack of sharpies, a clean planner, a clean slate. Your old friends, new faces, new opportunities. I love first days.

Somehow I became a senior again. This time it really is the end of my formal education. My last first day.

So in addition to some other things I’ve been chowin’ down on I thought I’d share my typical packed lunch.

Breakfast

Steel Cut Oats with Raspberries, Peaches and Almond Butter

WIAW Breakfast WIAW Breakfast

Packed Lunch

Mixed Greens with Sprouts, Cucumbers, Avocado and Pecan Pieces

Back to School Salad Back to School Salad

Snacks

Larabar & Snap Peas

WIAW Lara Bar WIAW Snacks

Dinner

Ate last night with some friends at Bandwagon Brew Pub. I tried a cucumber beer that was pretty good, it actually tasted like cucumber, really refreshing. For dinner I had a Beet Salad with Candied Walnuts and Goat’s Cheese.

Love fall, but want to hold onto summer for another week or two. No new chapters, just turning the page on the calendar. Working on new goals in September will be fun.

Happy first week of school! Woot woot, you’re a senior 😀

This is the first fall that I’m not going back to school since I was in like preschool. It’s weird, but I am temporarily working for a gap year before going back to school next year. It’ll be a good break, and I have time for my hobbies 🙂

I’ve recently got a box of Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars from Costco, and I love them! I’ve been taking them on my bike rides, to work, or whenever I need a handy snack. I highly recommend them, and they come in three flavors

I’ve had those before! The blueberry is delicious. My sister took a gap year and it was so helpful for her. Plus I’m sure with all your training you’ll need the extra time.
