6 Reasons 2013 Was the Best Year of My Life

December 22, 2013 by Georgie @ The Long Run

After a crazy couple weeks of finals I’m finally back on my blogging game. I’m so excited to be writing, snappin’ pics, sharing workouts and adventures again. It was hard taking a break from the blog, but luckily it helped me focus and feel confident about finals and I’d rather not compromise quality for quantity. As my first post after my break I thought I’d celebrate the

6 Reasons 2013 Was the Best Year of My Life:

1.) Living in London

For four months I lived my dream in my dream city in an apartment with four other amazing ladies. Each day was such a gift, but the biggest gift was the confidence it gave me to chase my dream and move to London after I graduate.LondonFriends

2.) Running a Half Marathon

If you had told me in January I’d run 13 miles in November I’d laugh in your face. Yes, I’ve been into running for several years, but racing is still very new. This race taught me if you run fast enough you don’t have to chase after dreams anymore you can actually run them.Half Marathon

3.) (Finally) Becoming a Dual Citizen

Finally getting my British passport after over 20 years was one of the proudest moments of my life. I love both countries so much and holding both documents in my hand reminds me how truly blessed I am to call both sides of the pond my home.United Kingdom

4.) Reviving the Long Run Blog

Not only has this blog helped me organize and motivate my fitness journey, but it’s been an incredible tool to meet and learn about other like-minded bloggers and readers. In it 4 the Long Run

5.) Making New Friends (& Strengthening Old Friendships)

My adventures in London and New York allowed me to get to know some incredible people & they made traveling and living in these cities even more wonderful.

6.) Spending a Summer in New York

NYC was an abrupt scenery change and unique challenge I wasn’t quite ready for, but because of that, I learned more than I could have imagined. It just shows that sometimes being knocked back is the best way forward.New York City

Serious Shoutouts

To the family and friends that made this adventures possible. Without their help, love, guidance, advice and support 2013 wouldn’t have been nearly the same.

Things to Look forward to 2014

  • Training for a second Half Marathon in April (this time I’m bringing friends)
  • Graduating in May
  • Moving to London shortly after (fingers crossed)
