Looking for the perfect crowd pleasing dip? Can’t decide between bringing hummus or guacamole? Here’s the perfect solution – not to mention an awesome dip to have handy in your fridge for any time.
I knew it was a winner when both guac lovers and not-so-lovers alike dug right in pre-Christmas-dinner. The added dollop of Greek yogurt adds just the right smooth texture and brings out the avocado-y goodness without being too overwhelming.
It’s like your best friends getting married, if your best friends are made out of hummus and avocados (that’s just me? oh, well – still delicious)
- 1 Can of Chickpeas
- 1 1/2 TBSP of Tahini
- 2 TBSP of Lemon Juice
- 3 Cloves of Garlic
- 1/2 Cup of Greek Yogurt (0% or 2%)
- 2 Small/Medium Avocados
- 1 tsp of Salt
- 1 TBSP of Peprika
- Drizzle of Olive Oil
- Put Chickpeas, Tahini, Lemon Juice & Garlic into food processor
- Blend until smooth
- Add Yogurt, Salt, Peprika and Avocado
- Blend until smooth
- Serve in a dish and garnish with drizzle of olive oil and a dash of Peprika
A Merry “Fitmas”
As I mentioned, I brought it to a Christmas dinner which I have the good fortune to share with my family every year. This year my family treated me to some great fitness related goodies including an epic heart rate monitor and gps from Garmin, money for new running shoes, intense socks, protein powder and some healthy energy bars.
