So I might not be living in a city, where exploration and discovery is a daily occurrence, but I still manage to find new exciting (for New Jersey) things.
This weekend:
I found 2% key lime fage. I saw this was a thing on the interwebs but I’ve never seen it until now. Verdict: fan-freakin-tastic especially if you are key lime pie lover. I added a lil granola and some toasted coconut. Heavenly. On Saturday, I went into Princeton to buy a new pair of running shoes. It was the first time I’d ever properly been fitted for a pair. I ended up getting Mizuno Wave Rider 17’s. They felt really great on my Sunday run (for the first three miles, but then my feet could feel the newness for the last two). I have high hopes for these kicks. Also treated myself to new tank from Lululemon (woops, not sorry).
On Sunday I discovered a beautiful trail right by the water and train tracks. I only went down 2.5 (and back, 5 total) and there was more path to go, so I can’t wait to keep running on it. Before this, I hadn’t found any good trails that I liked so I was ecstatic.
Found this adorable little robin’s egg.
After my Morning Sunday Runday I whipped up a killer breakfast, if I do say so myself.
Berry – Granola Parfait
Ingredients:
- Handful of your favorite granola (I used my homemade recipe)
- Plain Greek yogurt (I used 2% Fage)
- Favorite nut butter (I tried Wild Friends’ Coconut Chocolate PB)
- Fresh berries or any seasonal fruit (I used raspberries and blueberries)
To Make:
- Layer granola on the bottom of your bowl
- Sprinkle fresh fruit and add layer of greek yogurt
- Drizzle nut butter on top of yogurt and add another layer of berries
- Finally finish off with one more sprinkle of granola
- Take spoon and try not to dive in face first
Question Time:
- What’s your favorite brand of workout shoes (running or others)
- Favorite summer fruit (I know, this one’s a toughie)
- Best discovery you’ve made recently
