Who Needs Cake?

July 31, 2014 by Georgie @ The Long Run

I celebrated my 22nd birthday Monday without a party, a cake, or much hoopla. Instead, I went to work, ate an elaborate cup of froyo, watched the birthday episode of the Office, and Skyped with my family which wasn’t the worst day. birthday My mom put together this gem: (side note, no Taylor Swift was played)birthday Despite it’s lack of traditional pizzaz, this birthday was had a lot to give beyond presents. It was proof that no matter how far away my family and friends are their thoughtfulness knows no bounds. Graduating from college one of my biggest fears has been losing touch with my best friends, none of whom I live near. This birthday was proof that no matter how far away we are from people we love, anything from a simple “hello” to an elaborate office themed themed gift (my sister is a genius) can make a big difference.photo 3 copy photo It’s also a lesson in celebrating birthdays beyond one day. I plan on meeting up with friends this weekend to properly “celebrate.” Also, there’s still time to win some excellent snacks from my Birthday Giveaway birthday giveaway
