This summer I’ve been all about the smoothies. They’re the perfect way to my kick off my morning. I love packing my smoothies full of fruit (and often veggies) and nutritious add ins like protein, healthy fats and micro nutrients. Taking the time to peacefully eat/drink your breakfast always helps me start the day in a good mood. Plus I’m often full until lunch (not an easy feat).
This is my latest (and perhaps greatest?) smoothie creation, the blueberry muffin.
If you’re looking for the flavor of a freshly baked blueberry muffin that packs a little more nutritional punch you’ve come to the right place. This smoothie is perfect for summer mornings when it’s too hot to cook. The combo of creamy bananas, juicy blueberries, cinnamon and oats blend harmoniously and can satisfy both your AM hunger and taste buds.
Ingredients:
- 1 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup of almond milk
- 1 cup of frozen blueberries
- 1/3 cup of raw oatmeal
- 1 dash of cinnamon
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp of almond extract
- 1 scoop Vanilla protein powder
- Optional: Almond butter/ powdered PB
Directions:
Place all ingredients into your blender and blend until smooth. Optional: Garnish with fresh blueberries.
So there ya have it. Tastes like a bake good, powers you like a protein shake. I should call it the Hannah Montana of smoothies…. because you get the best of both worlds… ok I should go now…
