Late Night Light Bites: Just Trying to Get Guns

October 19, 2014 by Georgie @ The Long Run

Hi. Hey. Hola. Sup? Hope your weekend was just peachy (well if we’re trying to be in-season I guess apple-y is more appropriate but that’s not really a thing).

I’ve been seeing tons of race pics blowin up my Instagram and I love it! Congrats if you’ve been racing or training. Part of me is a little sad I’m not training for another half marathon this fall, but the other half is excited to work on more strength training. I fall in and out of love with running a lot.

Currently, running and I aren’t really talking much, maybe a text once in a while… ok this metaphor has gone too far, but you get it. Guns not runs…. for right now.

Fitness

Speaking of guns, I signed up for a new gym! This might be old news if you read my WIAW post, but I ditched the Planet Fitness (a little too simple, a few too many creepers) and joined a Retro Fitness (covered in horrible graphic design, but the staff are delightful and there’s tons of awesome equipment.)

On top of that, I actually signed up for a personal trainer! Looking forward to really stepping it up a notch. When I told him my goals were to get stronger and that I didn’t care about how much I weighed he was super confused. I guess that’s not normal for a girl. Guess my new single “Girls Just Wanna Have Guns” isn’t going to be a hit after all. #BadFitnessPuns

Food

Learn to make an epic smoothie bowl… and pronounce the word açaí (full disclosure I looked it up on Youtube)

acai bowl

Oops I made another recipe with ginger… you mad? But seriously, this smoothie is like a sweet sip of sunshine (for those mornings when it’s still flippin’ dark when you wake up)

Mango Carrot Ginger

The combination of sweet delicata squash, crunchy almonds and crisp Nashi pears #pefecto!

Fall Harvest Salad

Life Lately {in Pictures}

Nellie visited Jersey, then we escaped to NYC… and Russia?

    Your recipes look delicious 😛 I love adding roasted squash to my salads. It’s so autumnal.
