¡Hola amigos de comida! Hope you’re having a fantastic week so far. Sorry I missed you last Wednesday. I was working and visiting family in Boston and things got a little Tuesday night. But I figured today would be the perfect time to announce that I’m moving to Boston in January.
I thought it was only fitting that I post this video:
Excited doesn’t even begin to describe it. Bai is opening a new office in Framingham (outside Boston) and I was asked if I wanted to move…..and I said “hell yeah!” Not only do I get to explore a new/old city but I’ll be right around the block from my sister.
Maybe it’s just me, but I have the highest hopes for 2015. Let’s make it the best year yet? Plan? Cool!
Anywhoo I’m back at it and sharing some of my favorite eats from the past two weeks. Some Boston highlights and some Thanksgiving dishes.
Boston Eats
Soy Latte with a Local Yogurt, Granola and Apple Compote Parfait from Blue State Coffee
Soy Latte with Ginger Marshmallows (YES I REPEAT HOMEMADE GINGER MARSHMALLOWS!) from Crema in Cambridge Avocado, Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwich on a Homemade English Muffin from Crema in Cambridge
My mom, sister and I went back to Crema for Lunch when my mom came to town
and this sandwich happened. Hummus, avocado, sweet potato, sprouts on a toasted whole grain. Umm yeah. Perfection.
Nell and I went to the Painted Burro in Davis Square, Somerville. I ordered the fish tacos with a cucumber martini. Oh yeah and chips and guac because is that even a question?
I witnessed some pretty incredible sunsets over the week and captured this one during an unsuccessful apartment hunt.
Thanksgiving Eats
After a wonderful week in Boston we drove south to my grandparents’ house on Cape Cod where we enjoyed Thanksgiving together.
I made my pecan brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes & dairy free pumpkin pie.
My mom’s apple pie definitely took home the prettiest pie award, but the pumpkin held it’s own on the taste front.
Your Turn:
- Have you ever been to Boston? What should I explore when I get there?
- What’s your go-to order at the coffee shop? (I won’t judge if it’s tea, I promise)

As always, thank you so much to Jenn of Peas & Crayons for hosting WIAW every week. What a rockstar, like seriously!

Congrats! That’s so exciting. I was just in Boston for a few days last week and loved it!
Thanks Emily! It’s going to be a lot of fun getting to know this city better.
If you don’t mind, I think I’ll move to Boston with you. Our first stop definitely has to be Crema because this lady wants one of those sandwiches.
Aww yeah! They had so many yummy things on their menu too!
I could dive into that sandwich!
Good luck with the hunt. I love Boston!
Dive is the PERFECT verb for what that sandwich needed 😉
I spent a good part of my break in Boston as well and I plan on moving there in the next few years! I was just having a conversation with my boss about how the food there is AMAZING. I need to try those marshmallows though. Holy yum.
Best part? Little crystallized ginger pieces sunk down to your latte so it was a bonus when you were done drinking! Hit me up if you’re ever in Boston again.
Wow I’m so jealous! I was just in Boston for a few weeks in September and fell in love, it’s such a fun city! Definitely explore the North End if you like Italian food and the bakeries are to die for.
Thanks Lacey those are great suggestions!
Wooohooo! That’s Mucho exciting! Let us know how your apartment search goes!
Thanks Kaley! I’ll keep you updated… #fingerscrossed
everything looks so good! yum!
Oh. My. Gosh. Everything you ate looks amazing and right up my alley!! My husband and I are hoping to go to Boston in the spring so I’m gonna remember these restaurants. Yum!
