Soaking up Spring: Palm Breeze Review

May 1, 2015 by Georgie @ The Long Run

To say this was a long winter, would be the understatement of the year. I moved to Boston the second week of January and in less than a week the record breaking snow began to fall, well really it didn’t just fall it kind of dumped on us… for 6 weeks straight. As someone who’s already prone to seasonal affective disorder, man was this one a toughie.

Luckily the spring is finally here and I’m ready to soak up every ray of sunshine. It’s strange transitioning out of living semester to semester and reminding myself that summer breaks are a thing of the past. However, I still very much enjoy the summer even if I’m still working. When the days get longer it just feels like there’s more time in the day and I naturally have more energy. One of my favorite ways to soak up this warm weather is to enjoy drinks and cocktails outside in the early evening. You know, that weather when you have a sundress on, but you cover your shoulders with a blanket. Bliss.

Palm Breeze Review

I recently discovered the perfect drink for just this occasion called Palm Breeze. It’s a sparkling alcoholic spritzer and comes in two flavors: Ruby Red Citrus and Pineapple Mandarin Orange. I tried the Ruby Red Citrus because I’m a huge fan of all things grapefruit. The Ruby Red Citrus is light, refreshing and not overly sweet like a lot of other malt beverages.

This is the perfect drink if you want to enjoy a light drink and don’t love too strong of an alcohol taste, but if you’re feeling creative it’s a great mixer too. After enjoying it on it’s own, I also tried it with a shot of tequila and freshly squeezed lime and it really hit the spot. Where were these drinks when I was covered in 6 feet of snow?!

I’m so excited that I have my sister less than a five minute walk from my apartment because we both love a good grapefruit cocktail and I think this might be our new summer staple. There’s nothing quite like a little girl time with the sis. Palm Breeze comes in a six pack and well, I’m kind of light weight so I definitely will need to share. I’m trying not to get too jealous over the fact that she has a whole summer off (mind you teaching ain’t an easy gig). Ahh well, I’ll sip my Palm Breezirita and pretend I’m on vacation even if it’s just for the evening.

Your Turn:

  • What’s your favorite way to enjoy summer? (s’mores, sunset runs, going to the beach at night)
  • Do you have a favorite kind of girl’s night? (Mine would be guac, margs and cards against humanity)

I LOVE everything about summer! Yes the humidity in Houston is intense, but that is why there is Nantucket, because the ocean and salt water cure just about EVERYTHING! Happy Friday friend! XOXO

AHH no don’t remind me that summer breaks end eventually! My favorite kind of girls night would be talking/card games and yummy brownies & ice cream!
