Today I’m linking up with Jenn from Peas & Crayons for What I Ate Wednesday
Hello friends!
Fun to think we’re in the middle of the week in the middle of the month. This is a great time to take a little break, a little step back and do a status check.Β I’m tryingΒ to take a second to breathe, maybe even unplug and pause before jumping back in and finishing this month.
For the past couple days, I’ve been working from Nantucket (where I grew up). Not the worst fate in the world, eh?Β I’m honestly shocked how much taking this break from my normal routine has put me in such a better mental state. Maybe it’s the fact I’ve been out in the sun, or changed my routine, or spent more time with family, or left the heat and humidity of Boston, but whatever it is, I’m grateful.
I thought it would be fun to share what I ate yesterday (my last day on island).
Breakfast
Avocado & Almond Butter – Strawberry – Coconut Toast
Lunch
Banana, Mango, Raspberry, Almond Butter & Spinach Smoothie & a White Chocolate and Apricot Cookie from the Green
Dinner
Lobstah & S’mores for my friend’s birthday (can you say summer?!)
Your Turn:
- Do you have any fun trips coming up?
- Where’s your favorite place to escape?
I’m looking forward to some R&R when I get back to Florida. I’m going to treat the few weeks before school like a long vacation. That smoothie sounds awesome. I had a similar one yesterday minus the raspberries and it was a life-saver.
I don’t need to tell you the answer to these questions, because you know them already! Wink Wink…It made me so happy to spend some time with you this past weekend and hopefully it will happen a lot more. Happy Hump Day friend and so glad you had time to reset and put those summer blues away! xoxo
It was so fantastic meeting you in person and I can’t wait to see you more often! So excited for your next big chapter and potential dog walking dates in tuppancy
The smoothie π Mmmmm!
Nantucket is such a beautiful place!
It definitely is!
Giiiiirl you have me drooling over here looking at that avo and strawberry toasts! Your photos have been so beautiful I want to visit Nantucket!
Thanks Christina! If you’re ever up that way you have a place to stay π
I’ve always been so jealous of people who live year-round on island…my great aunt and uncle did until I was about 10, then it got to be too tough for them. But Nantucket is still one of my favorite places in the world π
To be honest, living year round is really tough. I was so ready to move away when I was done with high school but it’s nice to go back and visit.
That all looks so yummy! I need to get on that strawberry coconut toast game!
Such a simple combo but it’s so good, especially when strawbs are in season
I need to visit Nantucket just to try out the Green. Holy smokes does that smoothie sound delicious!!
It was pretty fantastic – then you can head to the beach after π
Oooh that smoothie and cookie!! Yum!
This makes me so excited for my trip I have planned next week! Camping up in CANADA <3 I have gone every summer, EVERY year of my whoolleeee life. Can't wait to take some pics and share with you all! I will also be totally unplugging for several days, because I won't have service π Looking forward to that!
I secretly love losing service because it forces me to unplug! Camping sounds so wonderful and I can’t wait to hear about it <3
omg-that lobster is effing perfect!
She was a beauty π
That lobster looks amazing! Brings back some wonderful memories of summers of childhood spent in Cape Cod
Nothing like a little Lobhstah on the beach π
Ahh a mini vacation sounds so nice! I’m heading up to Seattle/Canada for a week next month and I can’t wait for a little time off to reset and refresh π
That sound wonderful. I’ve always wanted to explore more of the west coast. Can’t wait to hear about it
Your food looks great! How was your lobster?!
Lobster was great. Nothing like the experience of eating out of the shell with melted butter. Mmm
Wow, your day of eats looks incredible! Since I’m currently in Indonesia, I would say I don’t have any big trips coming up but I’m definitely on one haha! And being in college, I think my favorite place to escape is probably home- so familiar and comforting and I get to see my family and pup! And I have my kitchen there, which I love, too π But as far as destinations go, I LOVE the mountains
OO the mountains are definitely one of those places I’d love to explore more. So exciting about your Indonesia trip (can’t wait to read your foodie post) <3 Nothing beats a nice big kitchen!
I’ve never been to Nantucket! We’re trying to plan an end-of-summer vacation but we haven’t picked a spot yet!
Well if you ever make plans for Nantucket let me know and I can give you the “local’s scoop” π
I’m back in Nantucket for two weeks in August and I cannot wait. Definitely my happy place. And The Green is totally my go-to. I love love love their smoothies. π
What’s your favorite beach? Recently rediscovered how beautiful steps is for sunsets.
wowww all the food looks so good -that lobster especially! no major trips coming up for me atm, but hoping to take a long weekend off and go camping somewhere =D
Would love to go camping! Such a nice way to disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature
