What I Ate on Nantucket

July 15, 2015 by Georgie @ The Long Run

Today I’m linking up with Jenn from Peas & Crayons for What I Ate Wednesday

Hello friends!

Fun to think we’re in the middle of the week in the middle of the month. This is a great time to take a little break, a little step back and do a status check.Β I’m tryingΒ to take a second to breathe, maybe even unplug and pause before jumping back in and finishing this month.

In it 4 the Long Run

For the past couple days, I’ve been working from Nantucket (where I grew up). Not the worst fate in the world, eh?Β I’m honestly shocked how much taking this break from my normal routine has put me in such a better mental state. Maybe it’s the fact I’ve been out in the sun, or changed my routine, or spent more time with family, or left the heat and humidity of Boston, but whatever it is, I’m grateful.

I thought it would be fun to share what I ate yesterday (my last day on island).

Breakfast

Avocado & Almond Butter – Strawberry – Coconut Toast

Lunch

Banana, Mango, Raspberry, Almond Butter & Spinach Smoothie & a White Chocolate and Apricot Cookie from the Green

Dinner

Lobstah & S’mores for my friend’s birthday (can you say summer?!)

Your Turn:

  • Do you have any fun trips coming up?
  • Where’s your favorite place to escape?

I’m looking forward to some R&R when I get back to Florida. I’m going to treat the few weeks before school like a long vacation. That smoothie sounds awesome. I had a similar one yesterday minus the raspberries and it was a life-saver.

I don’t need to tell you the answer to these questions, because you know them already! Wink Wink…It made me so happy to spend some time with you this past weekend and hopefully it will happen a lot more. Happy Hump Day friend and so glad you had time to reset and put those summer blues away! xoxo

I’ve always been so jealous of people who live year-round on island…my great aunt and uncle did until I was about 10, then it got to be too tough for them. But Nantucket is still one of my favorite places in the world πŸ™‚

To be honest, living year round is really tough. I was so ready to move away when I was done with high school but it’s nice to go back and visit.

Lobster was great. Nothing like the experience of eating out of the shell with melted butter. Mmm

Wow, your day of eats looks incredible! Since I’m currently in Indonesia, I would say I don’t have any big trips coming up but I’m definitely on one haha! And being in college, I think my favorite place to escape is probably home- so familiar and comforting and I get to see my family and pup! And I have my kitchen there, which I love, too πŸ™‚ But as far as destinations go, I LOVE the mountains

    • Georgie @ The Long Run says

      July 16, 2015 at 9:40 pm

OO the mountains are definitely one of those places I’d love to explore more. So exciting about your Indonesia trip (can’t wait to read your foodie post) <3 Nothing beats a nice big kitchen!
