Love Moscow Mules? Love Margaritas? Then prepare yourself for the best cocktail hybrid of all time… the Mule-Garita
I was going to share this cocktail with you last week but as soon as I started typing out a post, it was clear I had other things on my mind. I love that this blog has become a place where we can discuss stuff that we’re struggling with, or working on or having little victories with. I shared this sentiment last week, but although my blog isn’t the biggest on the block, the fact that I’ve been able to connect with so many incredible people, fellow bloggers and readers alike, makes early mornings, weekend shoots and late night writing and editing sessions 1000% worth it.
Ok, ok I’ll stop being a cheese ball so you can direct your attention (and your tastebuds’ attentions) to today’s main event. A cocktail combo that I kick myself for not making sooner because it’s probably the best flavor hybrid since the cronut.
Get ready for the best alliteration ever: Make yourself a Monday Moscow Mule-Garita. Ok, maybe not best ever, but certainly top 10 in the cocktail alliterations out there.
For those who aren’t familiar, a Moscow Mule is an insanely refreshing combination of ginger beer, lime and vodka and a Margarita is a beautiful medley of tequila, lime juice, simple syrup and triple sec.
This magical hybrid replaces the vodka for tequila and triple sec and replaces the simple syrup for ginger beer. So technically there isn’t much “Moscow” about this mule but for the alliteration’s sake we’ll keep the full name.
However you wind up saying it, this cocktail might just become your new favorite, especially if you’re a tequila fan. For those of you at home who aren’t tequila drinkers, you can always keep the vodka and cut the tequila, just know I’ll think a little less of you… I kid, I kid.
- 4 oz Ginger beer
- 1 1/2 oz Tequila
- 1 oz of Triple Sec
- Squeeze of Lime juice
- Salt for rim
- Pour salt on to a shallow plate
- Moisten the rim of a copper mug and dip in to shallow salt plate
- Place 4 ice cubes in copper mug
- Pour all liquid ingredients (Ginger Beer, Tequilla, Triple Sec and Lime Juice) into mug
- Stir and enjoy!

Your Turn:
- Someone asks to buy you a shot, what will it be?
- Or if shots aren’t your jam, what’s the best food hybrid you’ve had? (think pizza bagel, cronut etc.)
Love the idea of a mule-garita! Also love that nail polish aaaaand cutting the tequila is not an option.
I am a tequila girl…Nom Nom! As far as hybrid food…I cannot remember the last time I had a pizza bagel, but it sounds pretty darn good right about now! 🙂
The pictures in this post are on point 🙂 Might just have to have a mule-garita for Taco Tuesday!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS. I’m a Moscow Mule girl through and through. I can’t really do shots anymore, but give me one of these and I’d be a happy girl!
OK YES. I love this. Shots aren’t my favorite thing in the world but if I had to choose…fireball is pretty tasty.
Love this idea! We have some new copper Moscow mule glasses (7th anniversary gift, which is copper, from the hubs) that are *dying* to be used. As for shots, I just can’t do them anymore, although my choice in college was always Captain Morgan spiced rum.
Woohoo I hope you break in those copper mugs – and happy anniversary!!
