the Best of Summer

August 31, 2015 by Georgie @ The Long Run

In it 4 the Long Run

Hello there friends! It’s August-flipping-31st. Who’s ready for September?! *Eagerly raises hand* Without realizing it, this summer got a ‘lil crazy! Honestly though, after a rough start, the craziness was just what I needed in my life. Isn’t that funny how life does that sometimes?

I’ll admit, summer isn’t my favorite *gasp* but you knew that. I won’t say that I don’t like it, there are plenty of lovely things about summer, but it’s not my favorite.

That said, I actually really enjoyed these past few months so I wanted to take the chance to pause and reflect on the “best of summer” before charging into fall.

3 Favorite Recipes

I’m probably not supposed to have favorite recipes, but these were dope…

  1. Edible Vegan Cookie Dough
  2. Chipotle Sweet Potato Burgers
  3. Super Seed Extra Crunchy Granola

3 Favorite Summer Memories

It was hard to pick, but some of my favorites moments this summer were…

  1. Meeting up with some of my best friends from college (who I hand’t seen in a year)
  2. Listening to Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness (Jack’s Mannequin) live at Copley Square
  3. Busting up a surprise piñata (filled with healthy snacks) from my coworkers on my birthday

3 Things I’m Looking Forward To

Besides being excited for everything Fall because whatever, I guess I’m basic….

  1. Running the Nantucket Half Marathon in October
  2. Taking a mini vacation in September
  3. Going to more concerts with my sister

3 Jams I Won’t Stop Listening To

There’s no rhyme or reason, but they’re all on repeat…

  1. Powerful – Major Lazer (feat. Ellie Goulding & Tarrus Riley)
  2. Downtown – Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
  3. 679 – Fetty Wap

Anyways, I’m feeling super~*~#blessed~*~ and excited about the future of this blog and I suppose the future in general, too.

Your Turn:

  • What are you looking forward to this fall?
  • What’s your current jam? (like music, not jelly, even though I love a good raspberry jam)

So awesome you got to see Andrew McMahon play! Used to love Jack’s Mannequin 🙂 And those recipes look delish… and those blog posts were LEGIT. <3
Just heard "downtown" on the drive home from Toronto last night and I was definitely dancing. I'm digging it.

Thanks Ashley! Isn’t Downtown so groovy? I’ve been waiting for his return for a while. Jack’s was one of my favorites and luckily Andrew played a lot of old songs, it was great

So today I went a little pinterest crazy with fall recipes, and I actually can’t wait to have pumpkin flavored everything back in my life. Also I’m loving the Macklemore song too, did you see him preform it at the VMA’s last night? It was kinda crazy but I loved it.

Bali? An E-book? That sounds like it’s going to be an amazing Fall – is it going to be workout related? I’d love to have your workouts in one place!

I love that your co-workers made a pinata filled with healthy snacks for your birthday! To some people, that sentence probably sounds really sad haha, but I would’ve LOVED it, too!
