6 Green Smoothie Recipes That Actually Taste Amazing

December 28, 2015 by Georgie @ The Long Run

One of the many wonderful aspects of the holidays is sharing delicious, and yes often decadent, food with your loved ones. However the holidays can leave you feeling a little sluggish, like “meh” for days. Rather than try to eat less after the holidays, I make it a goal to eat better. No need to stress your body out, just treat it to what it’s looking for. Most likely that’s a big dose of greens.

No, you don’t have to eat salads for the next 10 days straight, but you can find fun ways to incorporate greens into each meal. One of my favorite ways to do that is by adding the green stuff to my AM routine in the form of a smoothie. Green smoothies can get a bad rap for tasting, well a little “too green” but I’ve rounded up 6 healthy, nutrient packed and delicious green combinations that will give you that boost your body’s craving.

These all look so good! I was a big green smoothie drinker, but mine never tasted good so its no wonder I got out of it! I would just pile all the nasty heathy things in a blender with water as the base and plug my nose to down it. My dad still does it every day, but these look so good they could double as dessert!

Haha that’s how I feel when I’m drinking most green juices – add some berries/fruit in there and they basically are dessert!

These look and sound AHmazing. I need to get to the grocery store stat.
And I love green smoothies. Spinach is definitely my go-to green because you really can’t taste it. OR AVOCADOS. So creamy and delicious.

I’m pretty sure I have green smoothie running through my veins in lieu of blood. That was actually a really bizarre thing to say, and I have no idea why I said it. I guess I just love green smoothies that much. Thank you so much for including me! <3

I love smoothies! Such a good way to get a bunch of fruits and veggies in. The pear ginger one sounds amazing. Ginger in anything immediately makes it better 🙂

Once upon a time I added kale into my smoothie, but didn’t blend it before adding the other stuff and I ended up with a smoothie with chunks of kale. Not so pleasant. Thankfully I’ve learned since then that green smoothies can be totally awesome. These all look so good, I don’t know which to try first!!

i agree.i think its better to treat our body better with wholesome ingredients than to starve and eat just too many healthy, not delicious things.

I’m so glad you posted this today. I went a little crazy today trying to put as many green things into my morning smoothie as possible and am struggling to get it down as I type this ha!

This is an awesome round up–thanks for including my cashew butter smoothie! Ugh, cashew butter–how I adore thee. Isn’t it crazy wonderful how spinach tastes like nothing in a smoothie? Probably the EASIEST way to eat spinach.

Abso-fruitly! Your smoothie is just so dreamy, I couldn’t not include it. Team spinach in smoothies all the way.
