Introducing: the BGBCommunity Website

February 22, 2016 by Georgie @ The Long Run

“Ok, let’s pick a date.”

“How about February 22nd?”

It seemed like eons away even though we knew how much work we still had to do to get there. Christina and I were sitting side by side. Laptops open. Coffee in hand. Epic plan on paper.

Although our long weekend together in Tampa in November was the first time meeting in person, I felt like I had known Christina forever. (oh boy, this is already sounding like a cheesy romance, but bear with me here.) I’m impatient, relentless, careless about details, overly optimistic, and I throw out new ideas at an obnoxious rate. But despite all that, Christina was on board and ready to take what was the seedling of something special and turn it into a kick ass tree.

Bloggers Gonna Blog

Last April, I corralled a handful of bloggers I admired and threw us together in a little Facebook group. I was craving stronger relationships with some of the bloggers I admired and figured this could be a good way to connect. With little expectation, I was quickly blown away by how much these talented ladies were willing help each other and how much fun blogging was when you felt like you belonged to something bigger than yourself.

This was the piece I felt that was missing from my blogging career since the start. The group slowly and steadily grew in size and engagement. I watched it take on a life of it’s own. People I had never met, helping each other through challenges and triumphs.

Simultaneously, my own blog was steadily growing and I felt more connected with my readers than ever. BGB was making a huge difference in how I felt about blogging and as a result the work I was creating.

In September, Christina reached out to me and asked me the question I had been asking myself that entire summer.

Bloggers Gonna Blog

“What if we made the Bloggers Gonna Blog Community something bigger?”

So six months later here we are. We made something bigger.

Introducing the BGBCommunity Website

Bloggers Gonna Blog

We built this site as a resource and hub of inspiration, information, connection, learning, and teaching. Our vision is that this site will not only be written by us, but by you, our community experts.

Bloggers Gonna Blog

This will be a place for bloggers who are starting their journey to learn and for veterans to teach and lead. This is your blog.

BGBCommunity is:

  • More than a Facebook Group
  • More than a blog
  • More than a (kick ass) #hashtag
  • It’s a movement.
  • What the kids might call a “squad.”
  • It’s a tribe of driven, talented, female bloggers who believe that we grow stronger together.
  • The #BGBCommunity knows that it takes a village to build a blog… and we are that village.

Bloggers Gonna Blog

So with all that hoopla we invite you to peruse the brand new BGBCommunity Website.

We can’t wait to hear what you think.

Have an awesome idea for BGBCommunity? Let us know. We wanna make it happen.

  24. Kaylin@EnticingHealthyEating says

    February 22, 2016 at 9:22 pm

This is definitely kickass, Georgie and Christina! Love the idea of “branding” the BGB Community as more of a movement rather than just a “group”. Love, love, love! And one idea I have for the BGB Community website is maybe there could be a weekly guest post? Or a bi-weekly guest post with a feature of that blogger? We could sign up to guest post (it could be random selection as well, of those who are interested) and contribute a blog topic (recipe, thought-provoking, fitness routine, etc.) each week or bi-week? 🙂

    • Kaylin@EnticingHealthyEating says

      February 22, 2016 at 9:23 pm

P.S. Maybe each month could be a different theme, too, in order to provide more of a direction of the general topic the blog posts should be based off of!

    • Georgie @ The Long Run says

      February 22, 2016 at 9:37 pm

Love that Kaylin – we’re trying to find as many ways to make this site dynamic and collaborative so that’s perfect. We do have a contributor “pitch” form so if you have any specific topics you’d like to write about in the meantime we’re definitely excited to have guest bloggers on board.
