6 Must Listen Wellness Podcasts

November 7, 2018 by Georgie @ The Long Run

Who else is a total podcast junkie? Since I was a kid I’ve been listening to books on tape and NPR so when the podcast medium became more popular I was SO in. Now I have a podcast of my own and I’m just obsessed with this medium.

I love that you can be learning or being entertained while you’re free to move about. I listen while I wake up in the morning, in the gym, while I clean, on a walk.

But maybe you’re new to podcasting and are wondering which shows are worth listening to. Today I’m sharing 6 of my favorite wellness-focused podcasts. What I love about these shows is that they cover wellness from such a broad and open-minded perspective. I know you’ll love listening to these powerhouse hosts who bring so much knowledge, compassion and FUN to the podcasting space.

6 Must Listen Wellness Podcasts

1. Nourishing Minds Nutrition

with Meg Dixon and Victoria Myers

These ladies are amazing. I’m biased because we’re friends in real life, but I actually think that just goes to show how amazing their work is because they’re the same in real life as they are on their podcast: so smart, open, insightful and FUN! You’ll learn so much about nutrition from a scientific perspective and you’ll also learn how to partner with your body instead of fearing and controlling it. These women are just incredible, I know you’ll love their deeply informative and inspiring podcast.

2. That’s So Maven

with Davida Lederle

Davida has always been a trailblazer in this space and her podcast is no different. On her podcast That’s So Maven she brings so many perspectives, modalities, and personalities to educate around wellness and mental health. Davida is always honest, open and curious. I always learn something new and leave feeling expanded after listening to her show.

3. Liveng Proof Podcast

with Engrid Latina

Engrid goes way beyond typical “wellness” content. She has insightful and deep conversations especially in the mental health space dealing with topics that often go uncovered like co-dependency, recovery, mental illness and more. Engrid is a truly intelligent, kind, curious and old soul. You’ll feel like you’ve been friends for years after listening to her show.

4. Balanced Black Girl

with Lestraundra Alfred

Les was one of the first guests on my own show and has been a friend of mine in this space for years. I am so excited that she has her own podcast to help make this space (that can so often be whitewashed) more inclusive. Les is smart, funny, articulate and I cannot wait to see how her show evolves.

5. Let it Out

with Katie Dalebout

Katie Dalebout is the queen of the long form conversation. Listening to her podcast feels like drinking a hot tea on a rainy afternoon. Her voice is kind, compassionate and curious. You always feel like you as the listener are right there with her as if she was speaking directly to you. I love how her conversations wind in unexpected ways just like in real life. I also love the variety of guests she has on. It definitely does not feel restricted to wellness but rather life after wellness which I love.
